Welcome to our Site

As the Pastor of this wonderful fellowship it is my privilege to welcome you to our site and introduce you to the people and ministries that make up Belfast First Church of the Nazarene at Skegoneill Avenue, in North Belfast. This Church has maintained  a  constant witness in this area of North Belfast for over sixty-five years and this year we were delighted to open our beautiful, modern, well equipped new worship sanctuary to enable us to continue in the witness and the work that God has called us to.

These are truly exciting days in our fellowship and as we meet each week for worship and prayer we do so with a real expectancy in our hearts that God is moving and blessing in our midst. We are a loving community of people who are drawn together by a common faith in Jesus Christ as Saviour. We welcome all people; visitors and local residents; those who have already found faith in God, and those who are still searching for answers. We know that you can find a home here at Belfast First Church of the Nazarene.

As a group of believers we are honestly striving to become the kind of church described in the Bible -- a church with relevant teaching, heart-felt worship, honest friendships, and compassionate care for those in need. In short, we'd like to have the kind of contagious Christianity that can influence the entire community, one life at a time.

You will find this a place where you really matter -- because you matter to God! Join us for our services, and other activities, where you'll find a warm, friendly atmosphere, lively worship, and inspirational messages from God’s word. Your servant in Christ

Nazarene Background

The Church of the Nazarene is a holiness denomination and has its roots in Wesleyan/Methodist tradition. The name "Nazarene" identifies our church with the title that was given to Jesus Christ (who grew up in the small village of Nazareth)in Matthew 2:23: 'He shall be called a Nazarene.' Therefore, the name "The Church of the Nazarene" signifies that we wish to be known as a church which is comprised of people who love and follow Jesus Christ, and wish to live in accordance with His teachings.
